I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's bout.
Ex two time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
